Kestrel EA Account Requirements

Kestrel runs on your own MetaTrader 4 account, so the account has to meet a short list of technical requirements. They describe the account, not a company: the choice of broker is yours.

Technical requirements of the account

  • MetaTrader 4 platform.
  • An account that allows buying and selling the same pair at the same time (hedging; FIFO accounts do not work).
  • Server time with the daily close at 17:00 New York (UTC+2 in winter, UTC+3 in summer).
  • An account in EUR or USD.
  • The technical capital figures are computed at 1:500 leverage and a stop-out of 20% (Standard) or 50% (Raw/ECN). With EU-regulated brokers the retail leverage cap is 1:30 and the capital required is higher.
  • The choice of broker and of its protections is yours. If the account does not meet these requirements, Kestrel does not trade and tells you why.
